BRUNSWICK — As part of its seventh annual winter education
series, “Windows on Water,” First Parish Church, UCC, will host a
mini-film festival this weekend.

Three documentaries on world and local water issues will be
presented at fellowship hall, 9 Cleaveland St., Brunswick.

On Friday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m., “Blue Gold: World Water Wars”
will be shown in the chapel. This film examines environmental and
political implications of the planet’s dwindling water supply and
posits that wars in the future will be fought over water. The film
also highlights some success stories of water activists around the
world as it makes a case for community action.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. in the chapel, “FLOW: For Love
of Water” concentrates on the big business of privatization of
water infrastructure which prioritizes profits over the availability
of clean water for people and the environment.

On Sunday, Feb. 17, at 4:30 p.m. in fellowship hall, “Tapped”
will explore the question: is access to clean drinking water a basic
human right or a commodity that should be bought and sold like any
other article of commerce? This film chronicles the conflict between
the people of Fryeburg, Maine, and Nestle Corp. A soup and bread
supper and discussion will follow this film.
