How Medicare Works
Maybe you are thinking about retirement and just what kind of health insurance you will need – maybe you think Medicare will “cover it all” – and if this sounds familiar, it’s probably a good idea to find out just what Medicare is and the difference between Part A, Part B, Part D and what’s covered and what isn’t.
On a regular basis, Southern Maine Agency on Aging offers “Welcome to Medicare” seminars in addition to one-on-one counseling and Q&A with a volunteer Medicare advocate. Call SMAA at 396-6500 or 1-800-427-7411 to register or make an appointment for the one-on-one sessions. Walk-ins can usually be accommodated.
On Tuesday, Feb. 19, SMAA will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Windham with a seminar from 10 a.m. to noon and one-on-one Medicare advocates available from 9 a.m. to noon.
Visit the website at www.smaaa.org to learn more about other services offered.
