GORHAM – Gorham planners on Tuesday unanimously approved expansion requests for two industries on Sanford Drive in the Gorham Industrial Park.

The vote was 6-0 (Tom Hughes absent).

Mega Industries, a leader in manufacturing microwave transmission equipment, received permission for a 7,400-square-foot addition to its present plant, built in 1997.

Peter Anania and Jeff Tounge of Mega Industries represented their company at the meeting. Several jobs will be added to the 40-50-person workforce.

Helical Solutions, 29 Sanford Drive, was also granted approval for a 3,955-square-foot expansion.

Shawn Frank, an engineer with Sebago Technics in Westbrook, presented plans for the 2-acre site owned by Castle Rock, LLC.

Helical Solutions manufactures high-performance cutting tools.
