OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Looking to go out on Valentine’s Day but don’t have a baby-sitter?

The Old Orchard Beach High School Class of 2014 has got you covered. The class is hosting a baby-sitting event at Jameson Elementary School for children in kindergarten through fifth grade on Valentine’s Day from 5-8 p.m. The cost for one child is $10, and the cost for two is $15.

Student volunteers, along with faculty and parents, say they will provide a fun-filled night with pizza, games, crafts and a movie.

All proceeds will benefit the Old Orchard Beach High School Class of 2014, said faculty advisor Amy Wright. She said the class is raising money for prom and graduation.

Wright said that not only does the event raise funds, but it has high school students interacting with younger students.

Wright said a notice went out to the Regional School Unit 23 community, and 10 children were signed up by Monday. Volunteers will be able to accommodate up to 150 children, she said.

On Monday afternoon, members of the Class of 2014 student council were brainstorming ideas for craft projects and games.

“I’m excited,” said Class President Sarah Jenkins. “I love kids.”

Class Vice President Sabryna Deshaies said she participated in a similar event held by her cheerleading squad at Christmas time. She said they had a lot of children show up, and it was a lot of fun.

All the students said they were looking forward to the event.

“I think we’ll have just as much fun as the kids,” said Jenkins.

“If not more,” added Class Treasurer Shania Evangelista.
