Maine author Bill Roorbach will speak about his new novel, “Life Among Giants,” at the Portland Public Library on Wednesday. The book focuses on 17-year-old David “Lizard” Hochmeyer — a star quarterback and Princeton-bound — whose parents are mysteriously murdered. The event is part of the library’s Brown Bag Lecture Series, so people are invited to bring their lunch.
