WESTBROOK (AP) — A teacher at the Westbrook Regional Vocational Center has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a juvenile.
Police say 32-year-old Derek Hanscom of Gorham was arrested on Monday.
Authorities say the incidents happened in the past two weeks.
Westbrook Police Capt. Tom Roth would not say whether the victim was a student.
The Portland Press Herald reports that Hanscom teaches automotive technology at the center, which provides career and technical education to students from Gorham, Bonny Eagle, Windham/Raymond, Scarborough and Westbrook high schools.
It’s unclear if he’s being represented by a lawyer.
