DEP Erosion Control Training, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12, Maine Department of Environmental Protection certification course in beginning and advanced erosion control practices. Any soil disturbance within the shoreland zone requires a certified contractor on all sites within 250 feet of a water body. Training will take place at the Town Office in Union. Fee is $45, or $55 after Feb. 5, and includes morning refreshments, lunch and a DEP manual.
