The Maine Red Claws look to tie a franchise record for longest winning streak when they go for their seventh straight victory Thursday night at Springfield.
Until Springfield bolstered its lineup this week, the Red Claws looked like big favorites. But the Armor have received reinforcements from their parent club, the Brooklyn Nets, with 6-foot-10 forward Tornike Shengelia and 6-3 Tyshawn Taylor joining them.
The two NBA players have played for Springfield once before, with Taylor scoring 32 points, and Shengelia recording a triple-double with 22 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.
Springfield (6-15) needs the help. It has lost four games to the Red Claws (16-8) this season, including a 106-92 rout Sunday.
Maine is as healthy and deep as it as been all season.
After Thursday, the Red Claws return to the Portland Expo for games at 7 p.m. Friday against the Santa Cruz Warriors, and at 3 p.m. Sunday against the Armor.
