PORTLAND — The Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) will host its annual Real Estate Forecast Conference and ninth annual Member Showcase on Jan. 24.
George Gervais, Department of Economic & Community Development commissioner, will serve as keynote speaker.
More than 500 of the state’s leading real estate experts are expected to attend the events, which is being held at Portland’s Holiday Inn By the Bay.
New this year, MEREDA has partnered with economist Dr. Charles Colgan of the University of Southern Maine’s Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service. In addition to delivering his economic forecast for the state, Colgan will unveil the “MEREDA Index.” This new metric will illustrate the statistical changes and measure the pulse of the commercial real estate industry in Maine.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
