BANGOR (AP) — A Maine man has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison for threatening to kill President Barack Obama.

Leroy Eugene Dunn of Hampden was sentenced to 33 months on Thursday after pleading guilty to the charge in April.

The 30-year-old Dunn admitted writing a letter to the president that read, “You will die at my hands. I will kill you Barack Obama.” At the time, Dunn was in a county jail on a drug trafficking charge, for which he is now serving a three-year prison sentence.
