The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a residential burglary reported last week during which they believe more than $30,000 in jewelry, coins and antiques were taken from a home in the area of Mountain Road.
The burglary was reported late Saturday morning. Sheriff’s deputies believe someone forced open a door the previous night and made off with a significant amount of jewelry, coins and antiques, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Temple said.
There are no suspects currently but the department is looking at “people of interest.”
The case is being handled by Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Sgt. Dale Hamilton.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
