The organization funds five to seven field trips per year for hundreds of students, and about a half dozen free special events throughout the year for families at the school, Chairwoman Angela Shambarger said.
“Without the additional funding from PTO fundraisers, like the auction, many of these programs just wouldn’t happen,” she said.
The auction committee is looking for individuals with skills or hobbies that they would like to donate for auction and businesses that would like to contribute products or services. Early donors include Q97.9, Maine Limousine, Monkey C Monkey Do in Wiscasset, Patriot Cinemas in Portland and Sea Mist Photography.
To make a contribution, call 423-7566 or visit http://www.facebook.com/lcs auction.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
