BATH — Dorothy A. Steen, 84, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Freeport Nursing Home in Freeport.

She was born in Bath on October 8, 1928, the daughter of Bradford P. Sr. and Dorothy F. Belanger.

She attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1948. On May 4, 1949 she married Aubrey E. Steen. After the birth of her two daughters, Dorothy was involved in Girl Scouts and many related school programs as her daughters grew up. She held numerous jobs including Bath Memorial Hospital, Senter’s Dept. Store, Dike-Newell School and Shaw’s Supermarket.

She was an active member of the Bath United Methodist Church participating in the choir, as a deacon and was active in the women’s group. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Bath Area Senior Citizen’s.

She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband,

Aubrey E. Steen of Bath, two daughters, Christie Kelley of Rockland and Deborah O’Brien and her husband Martin of Lewiston, one brother, Brad Belanger Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Bath, one sister, Annette Hixon and her husband Bruce of Bowdoin, five grandchildren, Beth Connelly and her husband Patrick, Brent Grimard and his wife Samantha, Kate Cross and her husband Brian, Leah O’Brien and her partner Jonathan and Martin O’Brien and his partner Courtney, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of her Life was held at 1 PM, Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Bath United Methodist Church, Oak Grove Ave in Bath. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bath United Methodist Church, 340 Oak Grove Ave., Bath, 04530.
