BRUNSWICK — Brunswick Shambhala Meditation Center, 19 Mason St., will offer a six week course, “Who Am I? The Basic Goodness of Being Human” Wednesdays, Jan. 9 to Feb. 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The class is the first course of three being offered in a Basic Goodness Series. The three courses “Who Am I”, “How Can I Help” and “What is Real” will guide participants in an experiential manner to an understanding of the Shambhala path which emphasizes the cultivation of fearlessness through gentle and intelligent action in the world based on the teachings of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
The first course in the series asks the question “Who am I?” and focuses inquiry on our sense of self. It introduces teachings from the Shambhala and Buddhist lineages on basic goodness, Buddha nature, the arising of ego, selflessness and the confidence of warriorship.
Each class will include sitting meditation and contemplative investigations based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness.
