PORTLAND — On the three consecutive nights of Dec. 28, 29, and 30 at the Memorial Hall of Woodfords Church, Dimensions In Jazz will present a representative sampling of Brooklyn-bound or Boston-bound but Mainebred jazz musicians who are considered by some to be among their generation’s finest. All sets begin at 8 p.m.
They hail from all areas of the state: saxophonists James Tweedie from Bar Harbor, Jeremy Viner from Bangor, Mike Maginnis from Sanford; pianists Liz Kosack from Yarmouth and Neil Pearlman from South Portland; drummers Noel Brennan from Augusta and Devon Gray from Yarmouth; bassists Jesse Heasly from Portland, Oliver Watkinson from Harpswell, Jason Anastasoff from Cape Elizabeth and Dominic Sbrega of Portland; violinist Gabe Terracciano from Portland; and scintillating young vocalist from Newcastle, Samantha Stevens.
Tickets are $5 for students, $10 In advance, and $15 at the door.
Advance tickets are available at Starbird Music and Jet Video in Portland, and Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
