BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Daniel Corey of Topsham won the Sherman’s Books & Stationery Award for Second Place for his oil painting “Glory Bound” in the recent ArtinME. juried art contest sponsored by Boothbay Region Art Foundation.
More than 250 works were entered by Maine artists; 107 of them were selected by Connie Hayes of Rockland for the third annual ArtinME. Five of these were chosen for awards and special mention.
In addition to Corey’s award, the winner of the BRAF Honorable Mention Award was given to Carlton Plummer of East Boothbay for his large acrylic painting “Winter Light.”
Winning the Cheap Joe’s Artists Supply Honorable Mention Award was Gardner Vega Paetow of Cooper Mills for his ceramic sculpture “Badfish.”
The First Federal Savings Award for Third Place went to Larry Kinney of Camden for his acrylic painting “Potemkin.”
Chosen to receive the Knickerbocker Group Award for First Place/Best of Show was Claire Hancock of Damariscotta for her pastel painting “Pink ‘Knock-Out’ Roses.”
