Mid-coast area churches are planning special services leading into Christmas. Among them are the following:
Day’s Ferry Congregational Church, Woolwich
WOOLWICH — Day’s Ferry Congregational Church will hold its annual Christmas Eve Service of Lessons and Carols on Monday at 5 p.m.
Led by the Rev. Alan Baughcum, the service will feature new music director Paul Althouse, soloist Lauren Haven and other special music.

Brunswick United Methodist Church
BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick United Methodist Church will celebrate its first Christmas with its new pastor, the Rev. Karen Munson, by offering two Christmas Eve services on Monday.
The first, at 7 p.m., will be family worship with a retelling of the Nativity Story for all ages with child friendly music and symbols of light and joy. At 11 p.m., a candlelit Service of Lessons and Carols weaves the Christmas story with scripture, special music from local musicians and congregational carol singing. The later service will include Holy Communion.

Gospel Light Fellowship, West Bath
WEST BATH — “Come and See What’s Happening in the Barn,” a Christmas program by the youth of Gospel Light Fellowship, will be presented Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
All ages will be ministering in music and a skit. Dinner will follow the service, along with caroling by candlelight in the afternoon.

Family Christian Fellowship, Topsham
TOPSHAM — An old-fashioned candlelight Christmas Eve service will be held at Family Christian Fellowship on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. All are encouraged to bring family and friends.
Candles will be provided to be held during the service.
Service will include live acoustic worshipful Christmas songs and a reading of the Christmas story from scripture. This evening event provides an opportunity to focus on the true meaning of Christmas together with loved ones.

Cundy’s Harbor Community Church, Harpswell
HARPSWELL — On Sunday at 10 a.m., the Sunday school children of the Cundy’s Harbor Community Church will present their Christmas program of songs and speaking parts.

Elim Community Church, Bath
BATH — Elim Community Church will be holding its Christmas Eve service on Monday at 6 p.m. at 1184 Washington St.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Brunswick
BRUNSWICK — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be offering two worship services on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24.
A 4 p.m. service is family friendly with a simplified liturgy. The 8 p.m. service is the traditional candlelight worship with the full liturgy. Holy Communion is offered at both services.
On Christmas Day, worship will be at 9 a.m.
All services are open to the community. Good Shepherd is located at 330 Maine St. in Brunswick, across the street from Parkview Adventist Medical Center’s main entrance. Parking is in the rear of the church.

Maine Street Baptist Church, Brunswick
BRUNSWICK — The public is invited to attend a special presentation of “The Christmas Story” at Maine Street Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 10:30 a.m.
The church also plans a special Christmas Eve service of music and art on Monday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m.

South Freeport Congregational Church
FREEPORT — South Freeport Congregational Church, 98 South Freeport Road, will celebrate the season with special Christmas Eve services at 7 and 10 p.m.
Each service will include the singing of traditional hymns, special music, candle lighting, stories and scriptures that remind all of Jesus’ birth. This year’s Christmas Eve collections will be split between the Center for Grieving Children and the Port Teen Center (at Freeport Community Services).

Bath United Methodist Church
BATH — The Bath United Methodist Church, 340 Oak Grove Ave., will be hosting several special holiday worship services this month.
The church will be having two worship services on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24.
The first, at 4 p.m., will be a family friendly worship service. A traditional candlelight service begins at 11 p.m.
The church is also planning a covenant renewal worship service on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, at 7 p.m.
The church is located at 340 Oak Grove Ave. Everyone is invited to attend any service.
