AUGUSTA — Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner George Gervais will present the communities of Auburn, Ellsworth, Fairfield, Kennebunk, Lewiston and Topsham with their “Certified Business Friendly Community” certificate and road signs at a State House ceremony Monday, Dec. 17.

City and town officials and community and business leaders will attend the event in the Hall of Flags at the Capitol. Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce President Charles “Chip” Morrison will speak about the value of business friendly communities to small businesses.

To date, 18 Maine cities and towns have been declared “certified business friendly
