BRUNSWICK — Warm Thy Neighbor — an emergency heating assistance fund managed by Tedford Housing and serving the Greater Brunswick area — said it served 165 households from mid-December 2011 through April 2012, consisting of 450 people. More than 100 of the families were seeking help for the first time.
The numbers from the prior year were 193 households, consisting of 382 individuals, served.
Founded by Sallie Smith, of Freeport, Warm Thy Neighbor is funded entirely by donations from individuals, churches and community groups from the Brunswick area.
