
He was born November 6, 1930 in Brooklyn New York. Having summered on Bailey’s Island, his family moved to Maine permanently while he was in high school. He received his Masters and his PHD in Marine Biology from the University of Maine, Orono.
Mr. Webber was a teacher and guidance counselor for what is now Lake Region High School, Bridgeton ME. During his summers, throughout his life, he was a lobsterman and fisherman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Webber was also a member of the Masons.
He is predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Grace Webber.
He is survived by four sons, Richard Blackstone Webber, II and his wife Ashley of Winter Park, FL, Donald William Thomas Webber and his wife Debbie of Raymond, ME, John Frederick Webber and his wife Rebecca of San Leondro, CA, Robert Douglas Webber of Bridgeton, ME; two daughters, Julianne Katherine Hutchins and her husband William E. of Biddeford, ME, Elizabeth Mary Emery and her husband Richard W. of Harrison, ME; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be announced for summer 2013 in Bailey Island Cemetery, Bailey Island, ME. Condolences can be expressed to the family through www.brackettfuneralhome.com.
