BATH — The “Hoops for Hope” preseason basketball games with the Mt. Ararat and Morse girls basketball squads are scheduled to be held tonight at the Bath Middle School gym with the jayvee game at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity at 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will go to help raise money for Breast Cancer Research. No admission fee will be charged. “Instead we are asking for donations,” said Morse coach Becky Roak. “If you are unable to make the game, but are interested in supporting this cause you can make checks payable to the American Cancer Society.”
Participants can give checks to a player or coaches from both teams or mail them to: Becky Roak, varsity basketball coach, Morse High School, 826 High Street, Bath, Maine, 04530.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
