HANOVER, N.H. — The Bowdoin College women’s squash team dropped a pair of matches in its seasonopening weekend at Dartmouth.
The Polar Bears (0-2) are ranked 20th in the latest College Squash Association poll. They dropped a 9-0 decision to eighth-ranked Dartmouth and fell 6-3 to 15th-ranked Franklin & Marshall.
After being shut out by the Big Green, Bowdoin earned three wins against the Diplomats on Saturday afternoon. Torey Lee took a 3-0 (11-2, 11-6, 11-5) win at No. 1 singles for the Polar Bears. Monica Wlodarczyk took a hard-fought 3-2 (11-7, 8-11, 7-11, 11-9, 12-10) win at No. 4 and Michaela Martin claimed a 3-1 (7-11, 11-9, 11- 9, 13-11) comeback victory at No. 5.
Bowdoin is scheduled to return to action on Jan. 5-6 when it travels to Williamstown, Mass., to take on Middlebury and Williams.
