On Thursday, Nov. 29, Lewiston police and Cumberland County Sheriff’s investigators arrested and charged two men in connection with recent prescription drug robberies at the Rite Aid pharmacies in Gray and Lewiston.
Ryan White, 24, of Pettingill Street in Lewiston, and Alexander Madore, 24, of Fifth Street in Auburn, were arrested and transported to the Androscoggin County Jail where they have been charged with two counts of robbery. White is being held on a probation hold. Madore’s bail has been set at $15,000 cash.
The pharmacies were hit Sunday, Nov. 4, within an hour of each other. The ensuing investigation determined that a male entered the Gray pharmacy located on Route 115 at about 1 p.m. and handed the pharmacist a note demanding prescription drugs. Believing that the suspect was armed (though no weapon was displayed), the pharmacist surrendered an undisclosed amount of pills. The suspect subsequently fled the store and was last seen running through the parking lot and getting into a newer model silver or white Jeep Wrangler.
