PORTLAND — The Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association has named University of New England senior Beth Suggs of Bath as Player of the Week.

The six-foot senior had a standout game in UNE’s 72-32 victory over Bowdoin in their only game last week.

Suggs scored 22 points and hauled in 11 rebounds in 29 minutes of action. She shot 10-for-12 (83 percent) from the field and was 2-for-3 from the free throw line. She also collected one steal and one assist. The win was UNE’s first against Bowdoin in their last 18 meetings.
