PORTLAND — The Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association has named University of New England senior Beth Suggs of Bath as Player of the Week.
The six-foot senior had a standout game in UNE’s 72-32 victory over Bowdoin in their only game last week.
Suggs scored 22 points and hauled in 11 rebounds in 29 minutes of action. She shot 10-for-12 (83 percent) from the field and was 2-for-3 from the free throw line. She also collected one steal and one assist. The win was UNE’s first against Bowdoin in their last 18 meetings. This is the second time in consecutive weeks that Suggs has earned the Player of the Week award.
The Honor Roll included Nicole Garland (USM), Molly Brown (Bates) and Diana Manduca (Colby).
