WESTPORT ISLAND — Rita Louise (Warner) Cromwell, 61, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. She was born on Aug. 31, 1951, the daughter of Mary (Ramsey) and Milard S. Warner.
Rita graduated from Morse High School in 1969 and went to work at New England Telephone Co. until 1982. Rita worked at Bath Iron Works from 1983 until retiring in 2011.
Rita enjoyed party planning, making candy, reading, gardening, photography, traveling and attending the theater.
For 33 years, Rita was married to the love of her life, David E. Cromwell. They resided at the home he had built on Westport Island. Rita was predeceased by David in 2011.
Rita is survived by two sisters,
Laura (Warner) Comeau and her husband Robert Comeau of Westbrook, Jo Warner and her husband Mark White of Woolwich; several nieces and nephews; a great-aunt, Ernestine Moison of Bath; aunts, Mary Renshaw of Massachusetts, Janice Hanson and her husband Gerald of Wiscasset; an uncle, Ernest Lebel and his wife Nancy of Popham Beach; brothers-in-law, Wayne Cromwell and his wife Becky, Garry Cromwell and his longtime companion Karen Webb, Dana Cromwell, Dennis Cromwell and his wife Rhonda; sister-in-law, Brenda Bonyan and her husband Paul, all of Westport.
A small graveside service was held at the Cromwell family cemetery on Nov. 18, 2012.
