WEST BATH — Traffic was reduced to a single lane for several minutes on Route 1 this morning while crews responded to a single-vehicle rollover attibuted to slick roads.

Sgt. Dale Hamilton of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department said the crash was reported at 7:35 a.m. on Route 1 northbound.

A 2000 Ford Explorer driven by 42-year-old Anita Mantais of Brunswick was merging onto Route 1 from the New Meadows on-ramp when Hamilton said Mantais lost control on a slick surface. The Ford Explorer hit the guardrail and rolled, coming to rest on the roof facing east, with the front fenders resting atop the guardrail.

Mantais was not injured, Hamilton said, and was checked at the scene by Bath Fire and Rescue. The Ford Explorer was totaled. West Bath Fire Department also responded to the scene and assisted with traffic control.

Hamilton estimates traffic was reduced to one lane for 15 or 20 minutes.
