It has been my highest honor to serve the people of Senate District 12 as your state senator for the past eight years. Maine’s term limits law prohibited me from seeking another term, however, I want all to know that it was an enormous privilege to be chosen by the people at four consecutive elections to be your Senator.

I will miss working for you in Augusta and will especially miss helping my constituents maneuver through the omnipresent governmental red tape to solve their unique problems.

I wish my replacement, Senator-elect Gary Plummer, all the best and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and Representative Mark Bryant as we focused on the important needs of Windham. I’m confident that newly elected state Representatives Jane Pringle and Tom Tyler will distinguish themselves as they represent our town in the Legislature.

As I depart my senatorial duties I would like to send my very best to all of my constituents in Windham, Raymond, Casco, Standish, Hollis and Frye Island. My goal was to serve you to the best of my abilities and to hopefully, in my own small way, help bring honor to politics – at least at the state level.

May God bless you all, the state of Maine and the United States of America.

Sen. Bill Diamond

Windham
