PROSPECT (AP) — Police say one man has died and two other people have been hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash in Prospect.
The Waldo County Sheriff ’s Office says officers responded to the crash on Route 1A just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The cause remains under investigation but Deputy Arthur Smith tells WABI-TV it appears two cars were already involved in an accident and the third vehicle came along and couldn’t avoid a collision.
In addition to the fatality, one man was hospitalized with what were described as critical injuries, while a woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
No names were released.
Although roads were wet, police say it’s too early to say if weather was a factor.
