A Benefit
A movie night will be held at the Dunn School, Morse Road, New Gloucester. The feature presentation will be, “Brave” on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5-7:30 p.m. All proceeds will benefit GNG Caring Community. This event is put on by the Dunn Patriot Parents. FMI, Christina at 233-0828.
Heads up for Fido
The town of Gray will be sponsoring a Rabies and Dog Licensing Clinic on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Gray Fire-Rescue Building at 125 Shaker Road from 10 a.m. to noon. The rabies vaccination cost is $10. Pets must be under the control of their owners. Proof of previous vaccination is necessary to be eligible for a three-year vaccination or it will be considered a first-time vaccination effective for one year. Pets must be at least 12 weeks old for a rabies vaccination. Vaccinations are available for dogs and cats, including non-resident dogs and cats. Licensing for resident pups is also available at the event.
Pet portraits will also be offered by Tsukroff Photography for $12 with $2 donated to Caring Community and $2 donated to the Animal Refuge League.
Annual Holiday Event
The First Congregational Church of Gray will hold its annual Holly Fair and Chowder Luncheon from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. This year’s fair will feature a huge variety of handcrafted items, fresh evergreen creations, home-baked treats, locally roasted coffee and world-class Cabot cheddar cheese. Check out the newly expanded White Elephant sale with beautiful antique and collector pieces.
Enjoy a delicious lunch of chowders and sandwiches, bid on a great selection of goods and services from the Promise Tree silent auction and take a walk down the Cookie Trail.

Tribute To Our Veterans
The American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 86 will pay tribute to all American veterans on Veterans Day at 15 Lewiston Road (Route 100) in Gray. Veterans who served their country during war or peacetime and live in the Gray-New Gloucester area are offered a free dinner on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 1-2 p.m. Reservations are necessary. Please call Agnes Stansfield at 657-3766 to make a reservation. Only the first 100 to call and reserve a meal will be served. You do not need to be a member of the American Legion to attend this dinner.
A Last Salute
The Maine Wildlife Park, on Route 26 in Gray, will close for the 2012 season on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. Since Sunday is also Veterans Day, the park will recognize and thank all past and present Maine military personnel and veterans for their service to our country by offering free park admission for each and their immediate families on the final day of operation for 2012.

HONK
The Gray-New Gloucester Patriot Players are proud to present “HONK” on Nov. 15, 16 and 17. HONK is the musical version of Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Ugly Duckling.” The family show, featuring the music of British songwriting duo Andrew Drewe and George Stiles, incorporates a message of acceptance and tolerance. The story is about Ugly, a duckling who is rejected by everyone but his mother, Ida, and a sly tomcat who wants to eat Ugly. Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Nov. 15, 16 and 17 and a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Nov. 17. The play will be staged at GNGHS cafetorium, Libby Hill Road in Gray and tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.
Holiday Hours
For the Veterans Day holiday the town of Gray’s transfer station will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 11, and the Town Hall will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12.
The Gray Town Hall and the Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23, for the Thanksgiving holiday also.
November News at the Library
The Gray Public Library will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and will remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, through Monday, Nov. 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. They will reopen on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m.
