WESTBROOK – The owner of a drive through coffee shop in downtown Westbrook announced at 2 p.m. Tuesday that President Barack Obama has won the bean poll over challenger Mitt Romney.
Mike Wowk, owner of The Daily Grind, said Obama tallied 65 percent of the espresso coffee beans, besting Romney with 35 percent in a poll of coffee-to-go customers.
Wowk placed two cans – one for each candidate – on an outside shelf near his takeout window so customers could vote. He said customers laughed as they voted. “They thought it was hilarious,” Wowk said.
