Hurricane Sandy is prompting closings across southern Maine.

The University of New England’s Biddeford and Portland campuses will remain closed Tuesday.

Portland Schools have announced there will be no school on Tuesday at Hall Elementary School, Casco Bay High School and Portland Arts and Technology High School due to power outages caused by the storm. All other schools will operate with normal hours.

The University of Southern Maine in Portland and Gorham will remain closed until noon Tuesday. A decision about afternoon classes will be made at 10 a.m.

The French School of Maine in Freeport announced there would be no school on Tuesday.

Scarborough police said via their Facebook page that the town would postpone Trick-or-treating to Saturday night.
