ORR’S ISLAND — Christopher Hart Baker, 63, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Harpswell.
Christopher was born in Damariscotta and grew up in the Damariscotta-Newcastle area, attending Lincoln Academy and graduating from Pomfret Academy in Connecticut.
He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford and subsequently obtained an MBA from the Univeristy of Connecticut. He worked as a CPA for accounting firm Arthur Anderson, where he traveled to Europe and Asia as well as the U.S on assignment. He later worked for Commercial Union in Boston and lived in Andover, MA for many years. Chris eventually retired to Orrs Island, which he loved for its beauty and island character, and the walks he could take with his dog Zoey.
He is survived by his sister Catharine Baker of Spruce Head ME, Cynthia Baker Ball and her husband Lance Ball of Wenham, MA. as well as his brother Colin Baker and his wife Elaine Cinciva of Freeport ME. He is survived by both his parents, Robert and Margaret Baker of Newcastle ME.
Funeral services are provided by Brackett Funeral Home. The family will hold a private memorial service around Thanksgiving. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
