Sanford High School science teacher Kristie Baker stirs a pot of turkey chili as freshmen Valerie Summers and Michelle Ouch, who helped prepare this and other dishes offered up at Food Day, look on. Students took part in Food Day at McDougal Orchards, inviting the public to stop by to sample what they’d prepared, read up on the merits of eating local, healthy food and join in on a 5K run/walk.
