SOMERVILLE, Mass. — The Tufts University Jumbos and the Bowdoin College Polar Bears battled to a 1-1 draw in New England Small College Athletic Conference women’s soccer action on Tuesday afternoon at Kraft Field.
The Polar Bears finished their regular season with a record of 10-3-1 (6-3-1) and will host Hamilton Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the NESCAC quarterfinals. The contest was originally scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. The Jumbos were eliminated from NESCAC playoff contention.
Down 1-0, Bowdoin’s Kiersten Turner had a pair of chances early for the Polar Bears.
In the 72nd minute, Turner buried an opportunity off a bouncing ball in the box to tie the score at 1-1, her sixth goal of the season.
Bowdoin first-year keeper Bridget McCarthy stopped three balls. Tufts outshot the Polar Bears 11-9 heading into overtime.
