SOUTH PORTLAND — Dead River Co. recently announced a new addition to its information technology team as Chris Turner has joined the staff as the senior manager of business applications and project management.
A 25-year career in IT, 10 of them in the petroleum and home heating industry, positions Turner well to take over management of Dead River’s business and back-office application suite as well as its project management function.
Prior to joining Dead River, Turner spent 10 years as vice president for information technology at Brunswickbased Downeast Energy.
Active in his local community, Turner serves on the board of directors for the Brunswick Area Student Aid Foundation and is a past board member for the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber and Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
