High school sailing teams from Cheverus, Falmouth and Yarmouth qualified for national regattas in November.

Julia Lambert, Warren Murray, Ian Lawson and Zach Walker-Elders of Cheverus earned a trip to the Great Oak Championship, scheduled for Nov. 9-11 in New Orleans, by placing fourth at the Casco Bay Open.

Falmouth and Yarmouth qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championships on Nov. 10-11 at Christchurch, Va. Falmouth sailors Charlie Lalumiere, Haley McMahon, Riley Engelberger, Kayla Adelman, Myles Everett, Reed McDermott and Cameron Loncoski qualified by finishing second among 14 teams in the Polar Bear Open at Bowdoin College and second among 14 teams in the Arnold Brown Trophy at Martha’s Vineyard.

Yarmouth’s Sam Alexander, Kyle Thomas, Tim Morse, Emelia Von Saltza and Ethan Merrill placed third in the Polar Bear Open and second among 20 teams at the Gleekman Trophy in Boston.

Carroll Jones made a hole-in-one on the 11th hole at Val Halla Golf Course on Oct. 8. Jones used a 7-iron for the 145-yard shot, which was witnessed by Tony Desimon and John Zappia.

Jean Cassidy aced the 139-yard sixth hole at Bangor Municipal Golf Course during the WMSGA tournament on Oct. 9. Cassidy used a 5-wood for the shot, which was witnessed by Brenda Rouillard, Sherrie Thomas and Linda Ambrose.

Carl Wegener made a hole-in-one on the eighth hole at Sable Oaks Golf Club, using an 8-iron from 125 yards. Mike Adams, Larry Kangas and Rob Stuardi witnessed the shot.

Harold Adams of Meriden, Conn., aced the 13th hole at Spring Meadows Golf Club on Oct. 6. He used an 8-iron for the 155-yard shot, which was witnessed by Connie Adams and Al Knowel.
