The Sturdivant Island Tuna Tournament has donated $35,000 to five Maine community colleges, including Southern Maine Community College. In its 15th year, the event has raised $335,000 for Maine community colleges, funding $1,000 scholarships to six SMCC students each year, according to a news release.
