Police arrested the man they say robbed Miller’s Variety at knifepoint Thursday night.
Lisbon police identified the suspect Friday as 21- year-old Brooks Noddin and issued a warrant for his arrest on robbery charges.
Noddin was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Friday by Lewiston police at Route 196 and Walnut Street, Lisbon police Detective William Tapley said.
Tapley said Lewiston police approached Noddin cautiously as he pulled into a parking lot. He was later transported to Androscoggin County Jail.
Noddin is believed to be the man who, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, approached clerks in Miller’s Variety Store on Route 196, displayed a knife and demanded cash.
No one was hurt during the robbery. Police said Noddin took money and cigarettes and left in a white 2007 Toyota Matrix. After media reports, police began receiving tips about Noddin.
Tapley said police quickly linked Noddin to the robbery because a similar car was stolen from a residence in Monmouth. Noddin was a suspect in the car theft because he had been in the area before the theft and was identified as a suspect based on a physical description.
