BRUNSWICK — Police have announced an arrest in the Sept. 30 stabbing of two 25-year-old Brunswick women.
Brunswick police said Jamie Mondragon, of Auburn, was arrested Friday by the U.S Marshals Service, in Fresno, Calif.
Mondragon, 31, had been wanted in a stabbing that occurred at 9 Perryman Drive at approximately 2 a.m. Sept. 30.
A 25- year-old woman was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland for multiple stab wounds to the chest and leg. Another 25-year-old woman who intervened during the incident sustained cuts to her hands and was transported to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. There were three small children inside the apartment at the time the stabbing occurred, but were upstairs and did not directly witness the incident, police said. A paring knife was recovered from the scene.
Mondragon fled the scene prior to the arrival of responding officers and was believed to be operating a dark gray 2001 Lexus ES300 with a Maine license plate of 6276RP.
