It is time once again to salute the Best of Best in our readership area of Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough and South Portland. This issue marks the seventh year for our popular Readers Choice Contest. Every year the response grows bigger with more and more local businesses being saluted by the faithful customers they serve.

Thank you to all of our readers who took the time to fill out the ballot and drop it off or mail it in. We know that this is an interruption in your already busy schedule. It’s nice to see the loyalty that people have to their favorite businesses, and the commitment to casting their votes with that in mind. Everyone who took the time to fill out their ballot voted for their No. 1 choices in 60 different categories.

Each business listed in these pages was picked by hundreds of loyal customers as their top choice. Some categories had more than a dozen different businesses with only one or two votes separating the first-, second- and third-place winners. Congratulations! I applaud all of you for doing what it takes to be recognized by your customers as one of the best at what you do.
