Falmouth emergency workers are on the scene of a propane leak that is forcing them to evacuate nearby homes and shut down a stretch of Foreside Road.

The leak was reported at 2 p.m. at 175 Foreside Road where a 1,000 gallon residential tank was leaking Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The leak has led emergency workers to shut down Foreside Road between Depot and Johnson roads. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.

No one has been injured in the incident.
