FARMINGTON (AP) — Three men involved in a Halloween night home invasion and robbery in Farmington have received stiff prison sentences.
Authorities say the masked men held a couple in their 60s at gunpoint inside their home, then forced the husband to drive to an ATM and withdraw hundreds of dollars. The victims opened the door to the robbers, thinking they were trick-or-treaters. They also stole prescription pills, guns and cash from the home.
The Morning Sentinel reports that the ringleader of the scheme, 27-year-old Kevin Crandall of Wilton, was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday in Franklin County Superior Court. Twenty-sixyear old Marcus Thompson of Farmington and 20-year-old Michael Kidd Jr. of Chesterville, were sentenced to 15 years each.
They apologized in court, blaming their actions on drug addiction.
