Falmouth police charged a Westbrook man Thursday with attempted murder in a June shooting.

Police charged Cory Reid, 28, with firing shots into a house at 407

Route 1 around 2 a.m. on June 20. The bullets narrowly missed two of the several people in the home, including a child.

Police did not identify the targets of the gunshots, but said Reid knew who he was aiming to shoot. Police did not say what the motive would have been.

Reid was arrested on the day of the shooting and charged with trafficking in cocaine.

Officers from Falmouth, Westbrook and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office raided a house on Route 302 that day and found cocaine hidden above ceiling tiles.

They also found a gun hidden in a bucket of chicken excrement. Police said it was not the gun that was used in the shooting.
