Pownal Elementary School book fair

Pownal Elementary School’s Scholastic book fair will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the school’s gym. Come “Read, White, and Blue!” with the school as they celebrate reading with a mock election (and popcorn). There will be a great selection of Scholastic books for sale and the event is open to the public.

Baked bean, spaghetti supper

Saturday the North Pownal United Methodist Church on Lawrence Road will be holding a public baked bean and spaghetti supper on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 4:30-6 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children and tots under 3 are free.

Food pantry ?open on Tuesdays

The North Pownal United Methodist Church on Lawrence Road is open every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m.- noon. Volunteers never know from week to week what will be available, but the pantry usually gets different kinds of breads, produce, desserts, etc. All are welcome.
