OAKLAND – Robbie Small scored his second goal of the game in overtime to give Mt. Ararat a 2-1 win over Messalonskee in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference boys’ soccer match Friday.

Small put the Eagles ahead early in the game, assisted by Nathan Santeramo. Nick Kamra tied it for Messalonskee (4-4-2) off an assist from Jarrod Simpson, but Small won it with an unassisted goal with two minutes left in overtime.

Gabe Pelletier stopped seven shots for Mt. Ararat (7-1-1), while Jonah Webb made 11 saves for Messalonskee.

DEERING 4, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Quitaiba Hasoon collected a goal and an assist and Ben Peterson contributed a pair of assists as the Rams (5-3-1) downed the Trojans (4-5) at Portland.

Stephen Ochan, Kuba Chandler and Zach Duperry also scored for Deering, which led 2-0 at halftime. Brett Harmon had an assist.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 8, TELSTAR 1: Kyle Fletcher became Monmouth’s all-time leading goal scorer, netting four goals to lead the Mustangs (2-5-3) past the Rebels (1-9-1) at Bethel.

Fletcher, who also had three assists, scored his 44th goal to pass Conor Crawford and Kris McCabe on the all-time list. Devin West scored the other four goals for Monmouth.

HALL-DALE 8, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0: Colin Lush had four goals and an assist to lead the Bulldogs (10-0) to a win over the Falcons (3-6-1) in Rumford.

Nat Crocker added two goals and three assists, and Tyler Fitzgerald had two goals and an assist.

LAWRENCE 8, OXFORD HILLS 2: Matt Saunders scored five goals as the Bulldogs (3-4-3) cruised past the Vikings (2-8) at South Paris.

FIELD HOCKEY

WAYNFLETE 0, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: The Flyers (6-3-2) and Rangers (5-4-1) played to a scoreless draw in a game that was called at halftime because of unsafe conditions from inclement weather.

PORTLAND 2, BONNY EAGLE 0: Isabelle DiMillo and Carissa Porcaro scored first-half goals to lead the Bulldogs (2-8-1) over the visiting Scots (1-7-2).

Gianna Gaudet made five saves for the shutout.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: Mackenzie Rague had two goals and an assist as the Seagulls (2-9) edged the Patriots (0-11) at Old Orchard Beach.

Jamie Boulos put Gray-New Gloucester ahead with 12:56 left in the first half. Rague scored off an assist from Jamie Crowley to tie it 3:21 before halftime.

The Patriots regained the lead 2:29 into the second half on Kelsey Pelton’s goal, but the Seagulls answered with three goals over a 12-minute span, including goals by Crowley and Daphne Allen.

GNG’s Emily Harlow scored with 3:58 remaining.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

MARSHWOOD 2, BIDDEFORD 1: Alli Schoff scored in the first half and Lydia St. Pierre made it 2-0 midway through the second half as the Hawks (4-5-1) clipped the Tigers (3-5-1) at South Hiram.

SANFORD 4, NOBLE 1: Marissa Duncan and Megan Fromwiller scored first-half goals to lead the Spartans (9-1) over the Knights (1-9) at North Berwick.

Allison Legere and Samantha Fecteau scored in the second half for Sanford. Kellie Tovey finished with seven saves.

Noble got a second-half goal from Gabby Reil. Shaylee Ashburn made 15 saves.

MASSABESIC 3, PORTLAND 1: Haley Bantz snapped a 1-1 tie with 19 minutes remaining, then set up a goal by Alyssa Wardwell with three minutes to play as the Mustangs (5-4) beat the Bulldogs (2-7-1) at Waterboro.

Rayne Whitten scored in the first half for Massabesic. Portland scored 16 minutes into the second half on a deflection off a Mustangs defender.

MT. ARARAT 5, MESSALONSKEE 0: Torri Pelletier scored a pair of goals to lift Mt. Ararat (6-3) to a win over Messalonskee (0-10) at Topsham.

Sierra Gilley, Erin Tome and Maddison Prescott added a goal apiece.

VINALHAVEN 4, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 1: The Vikings (1-6) scored four goals in the second half to defeat the Lions (0-6) at Vinalhaven.

Mariah Foss scored the only goal of the first half. Ryann Warren, Hannah Noyes, Eliza Davidson and Ellie Reiley scored for Vinalhaven.

Clarissa Jones finished with 15 saves for GPCS. Vinalhaven keeper Haley Bryan stopped three shots.
