WESTBROOK — Westbrook firefighters quickly brought a fire in the city’s downtown area under control late Thursday.

A dispatcher for the Westbrook Fire Department said fire broke out in an attic area of 40 Dana Court – a two-family apartment building off Bridge Street – just before 11 p.m.

Everyone got out safely and the fire was extinguished by 11:20 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
