The first People Plus Antiques Roadshow/Fall Festival is planned on Oct. 27 at the center, 35 Union St.
Anybody can come have a treasure appraised from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $5 each. There will be cider and doughnuts, hamburgers and hot dogs and fun.
From 4 to 6 p.m. there will be a live auction. Participants can enjoy wine and cheese while bidding on some beautiful arts, antiques and jewelry. All proceeds benefit the Volunteer Transportation Network, a People Plus program providing rides to homebound residents of Brunswick, Topsham and Harpswell.
Anyone interested in becoming a driver for this program is asked to contact Rebecca Banks at 729-0757.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
