Back River Paddle / 9 a.m. in Boothbay
This week’s outing for the Pemaquid Paddlers is Back River, starting from the Knickercane put-in site. Take Route 27 south from Route 1 toward Boothbay for 9.6 miles to the monument in Boothbay, and turn right. Go to the four-way stop and go straight, then veer right at the fork. Just after crossing the bridge, the parking lot is on your left. Participants must provide their own canoe or kayak and wear a life jacket. Call 677-6380.

Apple Cider / 10 to 11 a.m. in Boothbay
Lessons in apple cider pressing will be given at the Boothbay Region Land Trust’s Penny Lake Preserve. Limit is 30 participants. For more information, go to www.bbrlt.org. To register, call 633-4818.
Great Maine Weekend / 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Great Maine Outdoors Weekend is taking place Friday through Sunday across the state. In the midcoast region, the Georges River Land Trust is leading a canoe and kayak tour on a section of the St. George River. The trip leaves Ayers Park in Union on Route 235, just south of Union Common, where there is ample parking. Paddlers should bring a canoe or kayak, life jacket, snacks and water. Bath Celebrates the Outdoors / 9 a.m. in Bath
Bath Trails is celebrating the official completion of a local trail and the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend with a community hike. The hike on Whiskeag Trail will begin at the Bath YMCA. The event is free. The Whiskeag Trail represents the culmination of years of work, and the 5-mile trail is one of the longest public access trails in the area.
