Both teams enjoyed a big scoring pass in the otherwise defensive game.

Bonny Eagle took a 7-0 lead in the third quarter on Zach Dubiel’s 46-yard scoring pass to Joe Bissonnette. Portland came back with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Ruhlin to Garang Majok, with 6:42 left in the fourth quarter.

The Scots were without their leading offensive player, quarterback Tyson Goodale, who may miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The Bulldogs play host to Noble next week, while Bonny Eagle will travel to Sanford.

With the teams tied at 14-all at halftime, the second half was a game of field position, and the Panthers (3-1) eventually won that battle in the fourth quarter after a Jordhan Levine punt to the Morse 23.

A pair of penalties and lost yardage pinned the Shipbuilders on their two-yard line, and Waterville took over at the Morse 45 following a Morse punt.

David Bailey gained 15 yards on successive sweeps, and Wood burst through a huge hole on the right side to go almost untouched for a 30-yard score with 8:30 remaining.

A bad snap prevented the PAT, but the Panthers were up 20-14 and held on for the win.

Evan Greatorex went up the middle from five yards out to give Waterville the early lead, but Kevin McKellar’s four-yard run and D’Vaughn Myers’ 70-yard interception return put the Shipbuilders on top.

Wood’s eight-yard run tied it.

This will be updated as scores come in.
