BRUNSWICK — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Brunswick is teaming up with the Coastal Humane Society to celebrate the gift of animals with a blessing of the animals on Sept. 29 on the Brunswick Town Green near the gazebo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.
Individuals may bring pets at any time to receive a blessing and appropriate treats and learn more about the work of the Coastal Humane Society. Adoptable animals will be available at the event.
Donations of cash or materials for the work of Coastal Humane Society will be welcomed but are not necessary. For the safety and enjoyment of all our animal friends, pets should be properly leashed or in a travel carrier at this event.
For more information, contact the Rev. Rebecca Wegner at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 330 Maine St.; 725- 6561; or revrebeccawegner@gmail.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
